Title: PAOLANTONIO: Musicisti from Agnone

By the 1870s 4 brothers/musicians PAOLANTONIO - Antonio,Alfonso, Felice and Alessandro- (sons to Pasquale P. and Teresa Pannunzio)left Agnone to go to Argentina: the town`s council refused paying them a regular salary for performing as a band in the local celebrations.By the 1890s brothers and siblings were a leading 90 member band in Buenos Aires, known as Banda Paolantonio or Banda Sannitica. Antonio, a successful conductor, sent Francisco (b.in 1895) to develop professionally at the school of S.Pietro-a-Maiella. Aged 23 (1908), Francisco -now FRANCO- became an opera orchestra conductor and lead a most successful professional life acting round Italian communal theaters as well as in the outstanding opera stages of Latin America and Australia. He was killed by a Portuguese flute player during a rehearsal in Rio de Janeiro (1934).
